Dave Kinsey - BLK/MRKT (Los Angeles, USA)

Dave Kinsey - BLK/MRKT (Los Angeles, USA)
The joy of conferences? I’d say the exchange of creative ideas and information, meeting my peers, and being there to help inspire a new generation of designers and artists.
Dave Kinsey’s work attempts “to capture the universal essence of the human condition mainly through a symbolic portrayal of contemporary life”. Utilising a range of media, he constructs multi-layered, textured environments that “echo the complexities of our existence”. In 1996, Kinsey founded BLK/MRKT design studio and in 2001, BLK/MRKT Gallery (now Kinsey/DesForges), allowing him to “provide a crossroads for a new movement of emerging iconoclasts”.

Tim Kentley - XYZ Studios (Melbourne, Australia / New York, USA)
Tim Kentley founded XYZ in 2003 – "somewhat foolishly", he says. He had no training in animation and didn't know a single person in advertising.
Big Active - Gerard Saint (London, UK)
It believes in creative networks — its aim is "to produce creative design and commercial art based upon ideas with an accessible common touch".
The joy of conferences? The cold chill of adrenalin before talking in front of 2500 of your peers and the sweet relief of people laughing/clapping in the right places.
Dean Poole - Alt Group (Auckland, New Zealand)
We like the social life of ideas, collaborating with other people, because the problem with working by yourself is the echo.
Alex Trochut (Barcelona, Spain)
The joy of conferences? The moment after you have finished.
Adrian Clifford - Rinzen (Brisbane, Australia)
Clifford: Travel, meeting and talking to great people, and having the time to explore, encounter or generate new ideas and possibilities for design and art beyond the usual quotidian routines and deadlines.
