“We were wolves because we’ve got all the silver bullets.”
About
Jason Jameson and Sean Miles met at the Royal College of Art while doing an MA in animation. After graduation they set up Model Robot, an animation-production company, and since then they have produced a wide variety of animation and design-based work from their studios in Brick Lane, London. “We aim to bring a playful and experimental approach to all our projects and, above all, to have fun in doing so,” says Miles.
Alfie: Your Own Religion. A three minute animated pop promo produced in under two weeks from start to finish. All characters were drawn and painted on paper, then cut out and animated using both 2D and 3D techniques.
Power Of Science: Ape. A series of three tragic scientific experiments all of which go horribly, horribly wrong. Model Robot use techniques drawn from the very dawn of animation to move things forwards in these clips for MTV Sharts.
Buddi: It is a Model Robot pilot for a children’s TV series. Five super cute characters help each other through life and have a little fun along the way.
Bug: Bug mixes live action footage with colourful 3D animation to create an alternate reality that is not too far removed from our own world around us.
Land Of Dreams: For Nick Jr in the UK, is the nightly bedtime song for all the smaller people. Featuring a unique range of Model Robot 3D character designs guiding along the live action children, Land of Dreams is a bright, bouncy end to the day for Nick Jr viewers.
