Icon, Smiley, Sticon have becomed quickly a full part language. But often they keep the same design, cute and colorfull. The aim of the Project Emotional is to create a series of emoticon minimal and fancy. Each Icon correspond to a feeling or a notion. But the interpretation is more free. Symbol or hackneyed clichés were avoided. In the end, about 100 icons: a tired cat, a smiling dog, a collection of has-been T-shirts... and many more!

Cooee is an Amsterdam-based studio founded in 2010 and run by Leon Dijkstra. It specialises in visual communication with a strong focus on publication design and visual identities.

Pierre Kiandjan – Graphic Designer – Paris, France

Pierre Kiandjan is a 28-year-old self-taught graphic designer from Paris, France. He studied broadcast technology and management sciences, and have worked for four years as a broadcast producer in a French national public radio network. Pierre draws inspiration from music album artworks, optic art, and Mœbius comics. Through colours, he creates illusion of motion, space, or temperature. The challenges are gathering simple shapes within complicated blendings. Pierre often uses cross shadow and light effects with eclectic shades and patterns – in attempt to shake things up a little in the realm of optic art.

The Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (J.C.DISI) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) will organize its third 10DAYFEST from 25 September to 4 October with over 20 events under the theme of "Design and Society". All events are free to public. This year 108 change-makers are invited to showcase their socially innovative projects, stories and backgrounds, which are meant to inspire positive changes for Hong Kong.
